The Honourable Rona Ambrose is a passionate advocate for women and girls around the world who has led the global movement to create the International Day of the Girl at the United Nations. Rona has spent her life passionately fighting for disadvantaged women and girls. She was recently recognized for her efforts by being chosen as 1 of 100 global women leaders featured in the She Innovates “Impossible to Ignore” campaign, organized by UN Women

Jessica Dee Humphreys is an award-winning author who has also written another Citizen Kid book called Child Soldier: When Boys & Girls Are Used in War. Jessica specializes in international humanitarian and children's issues. Her work (as author as well as ghostwriter) has appeared in publications such as the New York Times, Maclean's, Canada's History magazine, the National Post, and the Globe and Mail.

 Simone Shin is an award-winning illustrator and a graduate of Boston University and the Art Center College of Design. She began working as a freelancer illustrating for magazines and newspapers, and teaching children in the arts, eventually venturing into children's book illustration. Read more at:
